Construction Security
Construction sites are among the most difficult but important-to-secure. Junkies steal wiring and catalytic converters, kids jump fences, and even employees steal tools. Luckily, construction sites are our specialty, residential or commercial,
The first step in providing security on construction sites is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of potential security risks on the site, such as areas with poor lighting, unsecured entrances, or weak points in the perimeter fence.
Once the risks are identified, a security plan should be developed to address them. This plan should consider the site’s layout and specific needs, and include measures such as access control, video surveillance, and, ideally, some kind of alarm systems. Video surveillance should be used to facilitate a response wherever possible, but not as a deterrent.
Workers and contractors should undergo background checks and be trained on how to stop theft, of course, but what’s most important is that they feel valued by the company and accountable to their peers and don’t want things to get stolen. Therefore, it’s vital at this step to work alongside them somehow to arrive at a security plan that you collectively want to succeed for the good of common interest. This will make them more likely to assist security efforts instead of feeling untrusted and resisting them.
